About
LaPorcshia Winfield
A Detroit-born model, artist, and storyteller who has always believed that creativity has the power to change the way we see ourselves.
Long before magazine covers, campaigns, or gallery walls, I was simply a little girl with a big imagination. I spent my childhood drawing, making things with my hands, posing in front of the mirror, and dreaming about a life that felt a bit bigger than the one I could see. I didn't know exactly how I'd get there. I only knew I wanted to create.
That dream eventually led me into professional modeling, where I spent more than a decade working with brands and creatives around the world. Modeling taught me confidence, discipline, and the beauty of collaboration — but it also reminded me that there was another side of me wanting to be explored. The one that wanted to tell stories instead of simply appearing in them.
Today, my work lives at the intersection of art, beauty, and storytelling. Through my oil paintings, I explore childhood memory, family, imagination, and the quiet moments that shape who we become. Many of my pieces center Black children in everyday life. Not because those stories are ordinary, but because they are worthy of being remembered.
My debut children's book, The Scoop, was born from that same belief, that children deserve to see themselves in stories that celebrate their imagination.
Whether I'm creating a painting, stepping onto a set, sharing beauty content, or writing, my goal is always the same: to create work that makes people pause, feel something, and remember a part of themselves.
This website is more than a portfolio. It's a home for everything I create and everything I'm becoming. Here you'll find original artwork, creative projects, behind-the-scenes moments, and the stories that connect them all.
Thank you for being here. I hope something you find inspires you to believe a little more deeply in your own imagination.
